Omatarah by Gloria Barltrop


Gloria Barltrop began her life long love of arts and entertainment when she played flute for her high school band, and she has been diversifying and growing her talents ever since. All through her college career she remained involved in the theatre as an actor, singer and a dancer. After marrying her husband and starting a family, she continued in Community Theater not only as a performer, but as a costume designer and stage manager. Her growing family followed her lead, and all three of her children have both performed on stage and worked behind the scenes in community, high school and college theatre as well as in the adult work arena.
For many years, Gloria also wrote short plays and stories for her two sons’ Boy Scouts of America troupe, and even after her children grew into adults, she still followed her passion and continued writing poems and children’s stories. Her current project, the Omatarah series, was born after she was privileged to have her screenplay by the same name reviewed by a representative of several Hollywood production companies. When representatives from two of these companies suggested Gloria first write the story as a book series, she took the advice to heart, and thus The Blue Dragon Legacy began. Gloria lives with her husband, dog and mischievous cat in Northern Virginia, where she enjoys visits by her children and their families in between chapters.
